Foster Refrigerator achieves Carbon Trust Standard
Foster Refrigerator has become the first refrigeration manufacturer to be awarded the Carbon Trust Standard.
The company was measured and independently assessed on data spanning a three year period to demonstrate year on year reduction in emissions across the company’s UK operations, culminating in 2009 when a reduction in carbon emissions of over 10 per cent was achieved.
Three criteria had to be met to achieve the standard:
· Accurate carbon footprint measurement
· Year on year reduction in carbon emissions
· Demonstration of good carbon management
Harry Morrision, Carbon Trust Standard general manager, said: “Being certified with the Carbon Trust Standard is proof that an organisation has taken genuine action to reduce its impact on climate change. We congratulate Foster Refrigerator on this achievement.”
