Freedom Heat Pumps opens for business

The company, based in Southampton, incorporates a show house and training centre, designed for end users and installers to come and experience a system operating in a domestic environment.

Graham Hendra, Freedom MD, says: “Over the last few years the heat pump market has suffered from rumour, confusion and over complication.

Heat pumps are not complicated: they are easy to apply to most installations and can be operated very efficiently by the end user given a few minutes proper tuition.”

The courses are designed to build on the skills the installers already have. “It is not our place to train people to be electricians and heating engineers. We are here to train qualified trades people how this technology fits in with what they already know.”

The selection and survey course covers the benefits of owning a heat pump, design of the systems, what is needed to conduct a successful survey, heat load calculations and radiator selections.

For the installing engineer it focuses on installation, commission and set up of the systems, as well as the hand over to the end user.”

All Freedom courses are free of charge and take a few hours to complete.
