Rivacold acquires Italian transport refrigeration manufacturer
Rivacold Group has acquired the Italian transport refrigeration systems manufacturer Frigiline. The move will allow Rivacold UK to move into a new area of the cold chain, targeting the transport sector for the first time - combined group turnover is now estimated at £125m.
Graham Barley, Rivacold UK managing director, said: “We see great potential in the UK for the battery based and direct-drive refrigeration units, as these are extremely popular here.”
Rivacold already has an interest in the vehicle cooling sector through group company Vitrifrigo, which makes compact refrigerators and freezers for driver’s cabins and air conditioners for cars.
The new Frigiline range will be launched at the forthcoming ChillVenta exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany.
