WR Refrigeration launches CO2 academy

WR Refrigeration is to officially launch its European CO2 training academy on 1st August. Developed as a result of parent company Huurre Group’s joint venture with CO2 specialist Enex srl, WR say it’s the only UK academy that includes subcritical, cascade and transcritical carbon dioxide refrigeration systems.

Patrick Mullins, WR business development director, said: “We felt there was something missing in terms of CO2 training and wanted to tap into Huurre’s knowledge and experience.”

WR claimed that work is underway to develop national competence qualification for CO2, possibly with City and Guilds accreditation - so far Wm Morrison has worked with WR to develop a carbon dioxide training programme to support the roll-out of CO2 refrigeration acroos its UK stores.

More than 200 engineers have successfully completed the two day CO2 course at the Sutton Coldfields based academy already.
