Relative died and left you less money than you thought? Only five numbers come in on your lottery ticket? Been pensioned off early after new kid took your job?
Don’t worry, you can still afford that glamorous Ferrari you always promised yourself, and a GT version, with a V12 engine to boot.
While certain types will argue that all Ferraris are classics, Cool Van Man knows different. He knows that not all stand the test of time in terms of keeping their style and kudos.
However, while certain models slip below the radar once their number is pulled, and a newer model prances in to take centre stage, as time passes, their stock continues to rise as we revaluate the vehicle’s achievements.
So here are the facts: you can own a beautiful Pininfarina designed used Ferrari 456GT 2+2 for just over £30,000. And it’s not a half-baked ‘cooking’ model that the masses flock to after they’ve bought the T-shirt and cap.
This 5.5-litre, 436hp motor goes from 0-60 in 5.2 seconds, and was the fastest four-seater on its launch back in 1992 (a facelift, complete with engine upgrade arrived in 1998).
But if you have any class, you won’t be putting your foot down in the 456, just cruising the motorways and A-roads at a steady rate of knots, surrounded by fine Italian leather, on the way to the south of France…accompanied, of course.
