A year or so ago we were told the RHI was going to be a massive financial incentive rewarding those forward thinking enough to install heat pumps.
It was Gordon Browns idea so in May 2010 when you voted in the Tories, they put the brakes on it.
The liars told us that an announcement about the RHI would come at the spending review on October 24th it didn’t, all we were told was there was some money available and RHI was postponed until June 2011. Next we were told that the announcement would come by Christmas, again silence. Today I read with interest that RHI will “probably” be introduced in June.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I don’t think the RHI is coming ever. If it is ever introduced , it’s obvious it will have a diminished value and to qualify you will have to be able to stand on your head whilst rubbing your tummy, singing rule Britannia and then filling in a thousand forms - using your feet.
The committee that decides these things is almost certainly made up of old men who used to be something in the industry back when people bought chillers. I’m sure they like nothing more than a good long meeting where no decisions are made followed by a boozy lunch.
If RHI is ever going to get off the ground we need to treat these old boys like the Conclave that elect the new pope. Shut them in a cold, dark room with poor quality food and no drink and tell them they are not coming out until they have sorted it.
To be honest the oil suppliers across the UK have done more good to the heat pump industry than these old tossers, with oil at 70p a litre only an idiot would use oil to heat the house. installing a heat pump will reduce your run cost by over 50 per cent
