GEA Bock launches biggest semi-hermetic compressor for transcritical CO2

Compressor specialist unveils six-cylinder unit with displacement of up to 30.2 cubic metres an hour

GEA Bock has introduced the six piston compressor HG46 CO2 T which offers a displacement of 21,8 to 30,2 cubic metres an hour, making it the biggest semi-hermetic compressor for transcritical CO2 applications with operating pressures of up to 130 bar currently available on the market.

Bock says in normal cooling conditions [gas cooler outlet +35°C (90bar), evaporation temperature -10 deg C, superheat 10 K] – it achieves a COP (coefficient of performance) of more than 1.85.

The HG46 has a robust engineering design that enables maximum standstill pressures of 150 bar on the high pressure side and 100 bar on the low pressure side and is based on the already established HG34 used in numerous industrial heat pumps as well as supermarkets refrigeration applications.
