2012 National Student of the Year Awards launches!

Calling all apprentices and their managers! Entries are now open to this year’s National Student of the Year Awards, get your nominations in now!

The RAC National Student of the Year Award recognises the achievements of the best up and coming engineers and celebrates their contribution to the industry.

If you have an engineer in training that you think is worthy of competing with the best refrigeration and air conditioning students in the country, ensure they enter.

All of the student of the year finalists will be invited to the annual Cooling Awards ceremony taking place at the London Hilton, Park Lane on 26th Septemberwhere they will be able to rub shoulders with over 700 of the industries finest and find out who has won the coveted award.

Last year’s winner Scott Berry of JD Cooling, said: “I would not hesitate to recommend apprentices within the cooling industry to enter the National Student of the Year Awards, as it’s recognition of their progressionand ability, as well as that of their company & training provider.”

“It’s also promotes a ‘feel good factor” for both company & apprentice. My confidence has improved with everyday tasks i.e.; communication with customers, on site works & my general development.”

Who can be nominated?
Nominees should be refrigeration and air conditioning engineers who are currently working towards a nationally recognised RAC qualification. There is no upper age limit.

Who can make a nomination?
Nominations can be submitted by either the employer, or the training provider of the nominee.

How many nominations are participants allowed to put forward?
Training Providers and Employers can make multiple nominations. For each nomination it is essential that the information supplied gives the judges a clear idea of how that particular student stands out from the crowd.

What is the deadline for receipt of nominations?
Completed nominations must be received by the awards team no later than 29th June 2012. Any submissions received after this date, will NOT be judged.

Who will judge the nominations?
Once your nominations are received they will be pored over by a panel of industry experts, who will decide on a shortlist of finalists.
