Air conditioning company Borahurst Limited has been voted as one of top 1,000 companies in a report in the The Telegraph newspaper.
Turnover for the company has risen from £1.7m in 1977, when the company was bought out by three apprentices, to £7m, with 22 staff now on the books.
Eighty per cent of the client base is in central London, which includes Graff, Cartier, Hackett, London Ambulance, Reigate & Banstead Council and British Land.
To be considered for inclusion in the report, companies had to meet a range of criteria. These included being UK-based, having a turnover of between £6m to £250m in the past 12 months and a minimum of three years in operation.
Companies had to demonstrate not only a positive growth in revenue over the past four years, but also an increase in employee numbers, workspace, contract wins or patent filings.
