Maurice King, who passed away on September 1, spent 50 years with the manufacturer in a number of roles
Bitzer UK has issued a tribute to “industry stalwart” and long-serving employee Maurice King, who passed away on September 1.
Mr King, who spent 50 years with the company before retiring in 2010, was viewed as an expert in the company’s technology and applications. Blitzer UK added that he had joined the company at the age of 15 as an apprentice in 1960 when it was known as Thermotank.
Mr King went on to work for the organisation across a number of different iterations. Over 50 years he took on the role of draughtsman, admiralty contracts engineer, commercial engineer, sales engineer and finally sales office supervisor for the company.
Blitzer UK managing director Kevin Glass praised Mr King’s work for the company, which accounted for the entirety of his professional life.
“His long service is a testimony to his loyalty and commitment. Maurice will be remembered by colleagues and industry peers for his outstanding technical knowledge, good humour and indefatigable character,” said Mr Glass. “On behalf of all at Bitzer UK, we wish to express our gratitude for Maurice’s many years of service and send sincere condolences to his family and many friends.”
The company said a funeral service will be taking place from 2:45pm onThursday September 21 at Oak Chapel, Crownhill Crematorium in Milton Keynes.
Mr King’s family have asked that individuals wishing to make donations do so by way of cheque to Macmillan Cancer Support in his honour.
