Boost for Climate Center

Wholesaler Climate Center has reported a 25 per cent increase in the sales of air conditioning equipment over the
past year.

The Wolseley subsidiary declined to give specific salesnumbers for the year to 31 March 2010, but the firm said its sales bucked the trend of the market in the UK, which it claimed had seen a 10 per cent drop in air conditioning
sales during the 12-month period.

Daikin and Fujitsu are Climate Center’s key air conditioning brands. The firm said both have benefited from the sustained increase in sales.

Ian Carroll, who heads air conditioning sales, said: “The wholesale agreement with Daikin UK has been a fantastic success for both parties. For us, it has added a market-leading brand with a long-held reputation for reliability and innovation, using advanced technology that is second to none in the market.”

Daikin UK business development manager Julian Brunnock said an increasing number of small installers wanted
access to high-quality air conditioning products: “The relationship with Climate Center offers opportunities to
purchase Daikin air conditioning units together with all related materials such as piping, spares and accessories.”
