Brass Monkey releases new 'family-friendly' version of Engineers Wizard App

Company responds to complaints about 18+ images on its commissioning app for refrigeration engineers and replaces ladies with landscapes

The developers of the Brass Monkey Engineers Wizard commissionig app for refrigerat engineers have said they have ‘rush-released a new family-friendly version of the app, in response to complaints about the inappropriate images used. Carel wrote to Brassmonkey to ask them to remove its products from the app and told its customers it was dissociating itself from the Wizard.

The developers say they have written to Carel UK boss Bob Cowlard to tell him that they have now launched a new version of the app replacing the ladies with landscapes.

They say the intention was only to create some amusement among engineers with the images and they had always intended to replace them at the next upgrade. .”We have had to rush this update out to avoid the threat of lawyers, and because the app is free, it costs us money. This means that the new data on Green & Cool is incomplete and the Danfoss AK781/741 guide is not included. Hopefully there will be an update in a few weeks with all the changes complete.”

The developers added that iIf Mr Cowlard remains unhappy and doesnt want Carel products included in any future version they would have to review their position.”But our information is that engineers working in Sainsbury and Tesco uses our app every day, so it seems a shame not to have the IR33C on it especially as the Carel documentation is difficult to read, Most engineers we surveyed found the Carel leaflet hard to understand and much preferred our version.”
