What is the prize?

What is the potential prize in terms of energy saving? Is it something worth striving for and what are the easiest wins that can come from looking at heating + cooling + controls holistically?

The integrated approach: Is it possible for heating, cooling and controls sectors to put aside differences to work together for better energy efficiency?

The role of heat pumps:  Does this technology represent the holy grail for building operators? What are the challenges and the pitfalls?

Legislation – what part does the policy framework, from Green Deal to RHI to Part L play in meeting energy targets?

Smart controls and intelligent buildings:What role does controls play currently and what is the potential? Is better  BMS or BEMS the key to success here?

Technology – what does the future hold for reducing building energy? Cutting edge ideas, from phase change to thermal storage. Should buildings and their operators be making more of demand shifting and other initiatives?

Other subjects could include areas such as: retrofit; monitoring and maintenance; the role of BIM etc.
