Carel complains about 'inappropriate' images in commissioning app

Controls specialist warns customers it doesnt approve of ‘18-rated’ images in android app for engineers

Carel managing director Bob Cowlard has written to customers distancing itself from a commissioning app for engineers, which contains references to its products, but uses images that it says are inappropriate for an under-18s audience.

Mr Cowlard told customers: “We have contacted the developers of the Brass Monkey’s Engineer Wizard to demand that Carel products are removed ‘and our name not used in any promotion. We do not condone or support this app in any way and strongly suggest that it is not downloaded onto your hardware.”

The app for android, described as ‘a collection of useful settings and messages for refrigeration engineers’, is a free download, available from the likes of Google Play.
