Carrier launches CO2 based transport container

Carrier Transicold has launched what is claimed to be the world’s first natural refrigerant technology based container.

Known as NaturaLINE, it uses CO2 technology and is said to deliver a level of efficiency only previously available from the company’s best-in-class PrimeLINE unit.

The system includes a new gas cooler/condenser coil that wraps around the fan and has enhanced surfaces to maximise heat transfer.

It also features a new marine-duty multi-stage compressor, together with new power electronics and software control system. The result is combined optimised fan speeds and compressor capacity to match cooling loads and temperature control.

John Mandyck, Carrier vice president of sustainability, said: “This technology is a breakthrough for the marine container refrigeration market and advances Carrier’s natural leadership in environmental technologies.”
