Chemours announces 15% price increase for R404A

Chemours has announced price increases for six of its refrigerants including a rise of 15% for 404A.

Effective from 1st January, or as allowed by contractual commitments, the price increases (see graphic) in the EU are in reaction to the F-Gas regulation, which reduces the amount of HFCs that can be placed on the European Union market, on a CO2-equivalent basis, by 7 per cent as compared to 2015.

In a statement the company said: “Chemours is well-positioned to help the market achieve this transition, not only with existing HFC products, but also with its Opteon range of low-GWP refrigerant solutions.

“These include products such as Opteon XP40 and Opteon XP44, which are commercially available and successfully used in hundreds of systems today.”
