Former management takes on Colman name that was ’too good to disappear’
Colman, a brand that has built a reputation in the air distribution sector for over half a century, is back under the name Colman Air Distribution, being run by its former management, following its purchase from former parent Eaton Williams.
Managing Director Mohammed Shafiq and Technical Sales Manager Ian Brown have over 20 years of experience with the Colman brand and have recruited a team of design and production engineers, all of whom worked for the previous Colman Moducel operation.
Mr Brown said: ”When Eaton Williams decided to drop Colman from their portfolio last year, we knew the name was too good to disappear from the market, so we purchased the business from them, which includes all the manufacturing equipment necessary to produce the product. We look forward to growing the business organically over the coming months and years’
The new business has opened two facilities covering 18,000 sq ft in North Staffordshire, dedicated to the manufacture of the Colman grille, diffuser and louvre range. Colman notes that it is ideally located for connection to the motorway network.
