Consort merges with sister firm as sales slow

Consort Refrigeration & Air Conditioning has closed its business activities due to the economic downturn and the resulting poor sales.

The business’s assets have been merged with sister business Consort Environmental Services Limited (CES), which has been trading separately for four years.

A spokesperson for Consort Refrigeration confirmed that the business entered administration on 29 January this year.

The spokesperson added that a decision to make some staff redundant in November 2008 was unsuccessful in keeping Consort Refrigeration entering administration.

It is hoped that the consolidation of the two businesses will build on the success generated by CES.

“Trading at CES is as buoyant as ever,” the spokesperson said of CES’s current level of activity.

CES has streamlined its operations to present a one-stop shop for design, installation projects and service and maintenance contracts for forecourt operators, restaurant, hotels, and office refurbishment work.
