Construction output is estimated to have grown by 5.3 per cent in October 2013 compared to the same month last year.
Latest figures from the Office for National Statistics also show output stood at £9.8bn in October, which was also 2.2 per cent up on September.
Revisions in the latest data reveal that output has been up year on year by more than 3 per cent every month since June.
New work was up 5 per cent year on year in October, while repair and maintenance grew 6 per cent.
By sector, private housing registered the largest rate of growth, at 19 per cent, while public housing was up 17 per cent.
The commercial sector grew by 9 per cent to surpass £6bn for the first time since January 2012, but infrastructure was down 3 per cent.
