The Cooling Industry Awards face-to-face judging has been rated an unqualified success by judges and entrants alike!
RAC’s Cooling Awards has just completed its face-to-face judging round, which has seen almost 100 finalists presenting their entries to over 50 judges from the cooling industry.
The process has been rated a roaring success from judges and finalists alike. Judge Tim Mitchell of Klima-therm said: “The standard has been really good, with entrants ticking all the boxes on what the category demanded.”
The finalists reported they have appreciated the opportunity to ‘pitch’ the finer points of their entries, while the judges said they welcomed the chance to ‘feel the passion behind the pitch’ and to have their questions answered in real time.
One of the judges, Peter Terry of Waitrose, said: “It really brings the paper presentations to life. It has been a real eye-opener in some cases, because they have been able to bring a different perspective to what they had on the paper.”
Mr Mitchell agreed: “Comparing the paper entry to the presentation has actually changed my view in some cases, so the whole process has been absolutely worthwhile.”
