Eaton Williams to cease production of Colman and Qualitair products

Eaton Williams has proposed to cease the manufacture of the Colman and Qualitair product ranges and concentrate on the air handling, humidification, Data Centre and Service offerings.

In light of these changes employees in the businesses of Eaton Williams based in Stoke on Trent, Edenbridge and Oxford will commence a consultation process with the Works Council and Union Representatives.

An Eaton-Williams company statement has said these discussions could result in a number of redundancies across the three sites.

Following the acquisition of Reznor LLC in June 2014 Nortek has carried out a review of its operations across Europe.

This review principally involves Eaton Williams Group, which is part of the Nortek Air Solutions Segment.

Eaton Williams supply primarily cooling products; the acquired Reznor LLC Group (AmbiRad UK, Reznor UK, Reznor Europe and Gaz Industrie) supply primarily heating based products.

There are collaborations between these businesses both in the markets served and the operations.

Both businesses are focusing on maximising service and improving their ability to deliver value to customer business.

Eaton-Williams has said the restructuring across the business will ensure a stronger more agile approach leveraging the combined strengths of the Nortek Global HVAC division within Europe.
