Hitachi announces new S-Series premium wall units

Hitachi Airconditioning Europe has launched a new range of S-Series premium room air conditioning wall and outdoor units to combat airborne bacteria

The S-Series wall splits achieve the highest level of energy efficiency in the European market with an SEER of 8.5 (A+++) and SCOP of 4.7 (A++). The range uses vector control as an inverter operation system to enable gradual regulation of the motor rotation rate and electricity current.

Hitachi’s redesigned scroll compressor has been improved to achieve both energy savings and stable high power operation.

The new S-Series range provides heating capacity down to -15 deg C outdoor temperature. The outdoor unit’s heat exchanger is claimed to be 150 per cent bigger than the previous model, which contributes to a shorter defrost operation time.

For further seasonal efficiencies, the new S-Series is equipped with a motion ECO Sensor to reduce energy consumption and adjust airflow direction to maintain comfort levels in the room. Stainless materials are used for the interior of the indoor unit, such as the air duct, stainless louver and micro mesh filter, and ionised mist is generated to eliminate airborne bacteria, mould and pollen to achieve high air quality.

A new multifunctional remote controller with cross key buttons and large liquid crystal display is supplied as standard. Designed to meet the needs of the European market, it features ECO mode, weekly timer, Leave Home mode to maintain room temperatures at no lower than 10 deg C, power consumption display for homeowners to monitor and take control of their energy usage, and error code display in case of a malfunction so the problem can quickly be diagnosed.
