HVCA president calls for low-carbon future

The HVCA president has called on its members to take advantage of “the most profitable commercial opportunity that building services engineering has ever known, by becoming experts in carbon reduction technologies.”

Speaking at the annual HVCA general meeting, Martin Burton said the Association must assist its members towards a fuller understanding of sustainable and renewable technologies, “from solar thermal to heat pumps, and from photovoltaics to hydrogen fuels cells.”

He added: “We must provide them with detailed guidance on matching the right renewable technology with detailed guidance on matching the right renewable technology with the right application…we must ensure that appropriate technical training arrangements are in place.”
