Integral UK moves refrigeration business away from Thurmaston to purpose-built premises

Service and installation contractor’s move from former WR Refrigeration site to new site in Birstall ‘demonstrates long-term commitment’ to UK refrigeration sector.

Integral UK has relocated the headquarters of the national refrigeration business it created last year with the purchase of retail contracts and other assets from WR Refrigeration to new, purpose-built premises in Birstall, Leicester.

The new building, just a few miles from the former WR premises in Thurmaston, demonstrates the company’s long-term commitment to serving and supporting its customers in the UK refrigeration sector, the firm said.

Patrick Mullins, Business Development Director said: “The aim is to equip the refrigeration business to provide an ever better service to customers, and ensure our management and field service teams have the very best possible resources and infrastructure to deliver.”

The purpose-built building brings the refrigeration teams together under one roof, with excellent transport links to all parts of the country. The company is investing in a long-term lease, underpinning its commitment to the sector and facilitating its strategic aim to grow in commercial refrigeration.

The move from the former Bridge Park Plaza site took place at the end of June, with relocation of the company’s national call centre and service desk carefully co-ordinated to ensure a smooth change-over and continuity of service for customers.

Alongside the move, Integral is investing in new phone and IT systems to improve communication with field staff and customers and assist support operations. To mark the opening, Paul Salmons, Integral UK Finance Director, and Luke Marriot, Integral Refrigeration Design Manager, cycled from the company’s Bristol head office to the new Leicester office (pictured).

The building will also be the home of sister company Berkley Controls which ,specialises in building control and energy optimisation. The building’s indoor environmental control systems –  which embrace air conditioning, heating and lighting – will be controlled and optimised by Berkley Controls, to demonstrate Integral’s capabilities and expertise in this increasingly important field.

Bryan Glastonbury, managing director of Integral UK Ltd, said: “Since acquiring the Leicester-headquartered refrigeration business last year, we have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure our teams have the resources and structure to provide the outstanding service demanded by our customers. The move is both a culmination of this work and a springboard for the future.

“We believe our integrated offering, of Arneg cabinets, installation contracting and service and maintenance, and our best-in-class training centre in the Midlands which is currently being developed, is second to none in the market. With the superb new headquarters, we have the right foundation in place to build a major UK refrigeration business.”

The address of Integral Refrigeration’s new headquarters is 1-2 Geoff Monk Way, Birstall, Leicester, LE43BU.
