IOR to host Aerospace refrigeration paper

The Institute of Refrigeration is set to host a paper entitled ‘Refrigeration in Aerospace – Cooling the Typhoon’.

Held in London on 2nd December, the event will describe the Eurofighter’s sub system cold wall cooling – a novel ram air driven vapour compression refrigeration system operating with HFC R245a.

A brief history of the use of vapour compression systems in light, commercial and military aircraft and other aerospace applications for air conditioning and heritage from refrigerated food service will be included.

Highlighted will be the selection and use of R245fa, legislative compliance, design, testing, materials and production issues including leak detection.
