IRI to hold Dublin hydrocarbons training workshop

Day-long event will help contractors understand handling and standards

The Irish Refrigeration Institute is holding a training workshop for contractors to help them to work with low-GWP but flammable hydrocarbon refrigerants.

The European standards have recently been increased for hydrocarbons from 150 g to 500 g in commercial cabinets, so the applications for the refrigerant have widened.

The workshp in Dublin on November 19 will cover such matters as why hydrocarbons make good refrigerants; maximum charges for the refrigerant; what the standards say about handling the flammable gas; and developing risk assessments for flammables.

It is aimed at those involved in supply, installation and maintenance of refrigerants.

The fee ranges from £50 for IRI Members to £95 for non-members
