MP takes HFC ban debate to commons

Labour MP Clive Efford has tabled an Early Day Motion (1753) on phasing-out HFCs in supermarkets shortly after a proposed Bill (Hydrocarbons Limitations Bill 2008-09) was discussed in the House of Commons earlier this month.

The MP is calling on government to follow the lead set by Denmark and Norway (and under examination by Swedish ministers) with measures such as HFC taxation to achieve deep emissions targets.

According to reports, the EIA is urging individuals to support the motion and write to their local MPs.
