Panasonic accepts EC fine

Panasonic Corporation has said it accepts the European Commission decision to impose a fine on Panasonic of EUR7,668,000 (£6.3m) on refrigeration compressors

Panasonic Corporation has said it accepts the European Commission decision to impose a fine on Panasonic of EUR7,668,000 (£6.3m) on refrigeration compressors that the Commission announced on December 7, 2011.

In a statement it said: “There shall be no material effect on the financial outlook for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2012 as a result of this payment.

It is the policy of Panasonic to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including antitrust regulations. The Company takes this matter seriously and will make every effort to maintain the public’s confidence. “

    ( an employee) of Aspera Frigo Italy
    that there was a European cartel which controlled prices of domestic compressors for fridge and freezer makers as well as the yearly quantatie being supplied to each customer. ESTA Netherlands was a typical example.
