Panasonic set to become ‘top three player’

Panasonic has announced its intention to increase its European market share, backed by a major 10 million euro marketing campaign.

Following Panasonic’s acquisition of Sanyo, the company now will be able to claim the Number 3 position in the European air conditioning market in terms of size and sales, the firm said. Announcing the investment plans at the recent Climatacazion event in Madrid, Panasonic also unveiled a substantially expanded product range including commercial AC, heating and heat pump technology.

Yuji Majima, Director of Corporate Overseas Marketing Division for Panasonic said: “There is a huge opportunity for Panasonic in the UK market because of our breadth of product range.  Our Panasonic and Sanyo engineering and R&D teams are already working together in close collaboration. Together we are very strong: Panasonic in room air conditioning and air-to-water heat pump technology, and Sanyo in gas powered VRF.”   Over the next few months, the Sanyo brand will be fully integrated into Panasonic.
The new investment programme will see Panasonic beef up its Technical, Training, and Marketing & Support facilities in the UK and the company has announced additional resources with five new appointments set for this year alone.

  • Having recently attended Climatacazion event in Madrid I was suitably impressed with the Panasonic product portfolio on show. Panasonic truly offers the complete solution for both heating and cooling applications. On the stand were the full range of standard air conditioning units and a full working Aquarea air to water heat pump system. Also on display were the ECOi VRF and the GHP (Gas Powered VRF). This product line up demonstrates Panasonic commitment to the UK market and their intentions to be one of the big 3.
