Paul Jeffs wins NNBC Apprentice of the Year

Paul Jeffs was crowned the winner of the Apprentice of the Year 2014 at the North Notts Business Awards Ceremony recently held at Hodsock Priory.

Paul, 22 years old, has worked at Mansfield Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (MRAC) for nearly three years.

In a statement his company said: “Paul has developed quickly due to a remarkable capacity for absorbing information, a customer focused attitude and the ability to quickly diagnose problems and suggest solutions.

Although Paul has won this award, his greatest achievement has been gaining the respect of the senior engineers due to his attitude and willingness to learn, which has developed his technical competence and fault finding skills.

MRAC have been so impressed with Paul that when a fully qualified refrigeration and air conditioning engineering role became vacant he was ready to ‘fill’ it, even though he had only recently qualified. He is working on a range of jobs from rebuilding process chillers to servicing and maintaining VRV/VRF air conditioning systems.

Steven Lee, MRAC general manager said, “Paul is a truly deserving winner and MRAC are fortunate to have Paul who is a fine, mature, talented young engineer in our employ.”

  • Congratulations to Paul. It is great to see young talent coming through
Credit to his employer as well. The smaller companies really are the ones making a difference at a local level, no matter what the big boys would have us believe.
