Posh and Becks win AC battle

Ex-footballer and previous girl band member David and Victoria Beckham have won a planning permission fracas over installation of an AC system in their vast house.

The media-derived couple plan to install the system in five rooms, including an enormous gym and colossal wine cellar at their modest £31.5million west London home.

Surprisingly, a neighbour has taken exception to the proposal, claiming it “will affect the historic character of the Victorian house of the streets, my house included”.

Concerns were raised regarding the impact of noise, vibration, dirt, pollution and dust from the construction.

However, other residents have given their support to the famous couple and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Council has approved the plans subject to minor conditions.

A report from the council said the air-conditioning would have minimal impact on the significance of the listed building and the noise from the units would comply with the borough’s criteria.
