Powrmatic is set to introduce a range of ErP compliant split system heat pump air conditioners from Midea.
The company says that all of the models in the range deliver the seasonal energy efficiencies required by the Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC (ErP Directive) for <12kW air conditioners.
The ErP-compliant models include an upgraded version of the popular Luna high wall series with DC inverter and a ‘super DC inverter’ version of the Super Slim Round Cassette, both with an energy rating of A. There are also A-rated super DC inverter versions of ceiling and floor mounted models.
It’s claimed that standby power consumption has been reduced to 0.5-1W and advanced, active Power Factor Correction technology has been introduced to greatly improve transformation efficiency – with >97 per cent of the input power supply used effectively.
The units are also more responsive to changing heating and cooling requirements, so that operation is more closely aligned to the requirements of the space. In the Luna, for instance, there are now 12 indoor fan speeds and 5 outdoor fans speeds, while inverter compressor control has been increased from 10 stages to 25 stages.
The result is that Midea ErP range now delivers Seasonal Coefficients of Performance (SCOP) from 3.41 to 3.62 and Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratios (SEER) from 5.38 to 6.21.
