Qatar signs agreement with American RAC engineer society

Qatar Society of Engineers and American Society of Heating, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineers have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance co-operation between the two forums representing engineers in Qatar.

Chairman of the Qatar Society of Engineers Ahmed Jassim  al-Jolo said one of the main objectives of his forum is to co-operate with other engineering and technical bodies to improve the quality of engineering activities in Qatar. “We also aim to assist and exchange technologies with different engineer groups,” he said.

Both the organisations have agreed to exchange experience and skills by holding joint workshops and meetings and also facilitating exchange of scientific and organisational articles and publications.

Ashrae president Hassan Sultan said the forum that he represented has more than 100 years of international experience and exposure and it has been undertaking research in the field of energy saving, energy law, green systems, sustainability and materials recycling among other things.

He said Ashrae’s Oryx chapter was established more than four years ago and has 150 engineers on its rolls. It is involved in technical workshops, and seminars and publishes newsletters for engineers and other professionals in Qatar.
