Hotel group specifies Vision 2.3 condenser-less heat pump units for ease and speed of installation – and the fact they have no outdoor units to disrupt the building facades
The Nottingham Belfry Hotel is the first hotel operated by QHotels Group to be fitted with Powrmatic Vision 2.3 condenser-less heat pump air conditioning . The installation has been achieved with no downtime of the rooms, the manufacturer said.
The Nottingham Belfry is an ultra-modern 120 room conference hotel so it was considered important that the air conditioning should complement the décor, internally and externally. The packaged design of the Vision 2.3, which requires no outdoor units ensured no interference with the clean lines of the hotel’s facades. Internally, the slim profile of the Vision 2.3 units combines with low noise levels that ensure non-intrusive performance, the firm says.
Rob Reeves, M&E consultant to QHotels said: “The Vision 2.3 is the perfect solution for our hotels. We installed 45 units in under two weeks whilst still having the rooms occupied; they look great, simple to install and extremely quiet.”
The first phase of the air conditioning installation by Clover Technical Solutions involved fitting Vision 2.3 units at low level in 45 rooms. The project was carried out over a two-week period between 10am and 4pm to ensure the rooms remained in use. The Vision 2.3 claims ErP-compliant energy efficiency in both heating and cooling modes – claiming an EER of 2.71 in cooling mode and a COP of 3.1 in heating mode.
The Powrmatic units will be rolled out to the remaining rooms in the Nottingham Belfry as well as to other QHotels in a three-year re-fit programme. Where existing wet heating systems are being replaced, these will use the Vision 2.3 LTHW low temperature hot water model.
