Manufacturer SRF claims first for its low flammability blend designed for AC systems
Indian refrigerant manufacturer SRF says it has obtained Ashrae certification for R467A, its new, low-GWP refrigerant blend for stationary air conditioning applications. The firm say it is the first refrigerant from India to have received this certification by the Ashrae Standards Committee
R467A is a non-toxic, lower-flammability refrigerant blend designed mainly for use in stationary air conditioning applications. The A2L blend is not an HFO, but uses 0.6% R600a.
With a GWP of 1330, the refrigerant is aimed at offering a significant GWP reduction on R22 for those countries still able to use it.
Composition is 22% R32/ 5% R125/ 72.4% R134a/ 0.6% R600a
Average Relative Molar Mass = 84.4
Bubble Point (°C) = –40.5
Dew Point (°C) = –33.3
The blend claims to offer superior refrigerant performance and stability and will be marketed under SRF’s Floron brand of refrigerants.
Prashant Yadav, CEO, of SRF’s Fluorochemicals Business, said: “Backed by breakthrough R&D, SRF continues to remain committed to developing the next-generation of fluorinated gases that have minimal impact on the environment. We believe that this will provide a good mid term solution and option to our customers globally.”
