RAC Magazine December digital issue out now

December’s RAC Magazine includes detailed coverage of a special roundtable event that brought together key figures in the refrigerant supply chain to consider the prospects for widespread adoption of the mildly flammable gas R32.

Questions remain over how many large AC manufacturers will commit to provide and support the product as an alternative to the increasingly costly R404A and R410A, despite respondents finding education programmes on adopting A2Ls were assuaging stakeholders fears over potential safety concerns.

With the EU’s F-Gas regulation next year introducing a further 40 per cent in quotas of higher GWP refrigerant from base levels, cost was seen as a vital driver for take-up.

This month’s issue also looks at a case study on efforts to transform the energy consumption needs of ice rinks in the UK, as well as over 20 countries agreeing to ratify the Kigali amendment that will set new global standards for cutting HFCs from 2019.
