December’s RAC Magazine asks just how EU F-Gas regulation can be kept on track as industry faces up to further quota cuts and the unknown scale of the illegal refrigerant trade
Enforcement is just one of the pressing challenges facing efforts by the EU cooling industry in trying to phase-out use of higher GWP refrigerant. The claims have been made amidst fears that the unknown scope of illegal trade for such gasses could derail any progress made by industry under the F-Gas regulation.
This was among one of the core conclusions of the latest RAC Magazine round table event, held in conjunction with Chemours, which is included in the latest issue of the magazine. The round table panel noted how 2018 had not seen the crippling shortages of refrigerant predicted, yet warned that it was far from certain how pricing would be impacted over the course of 2019 ahead of an upcoming ban on some higher GWP products.
The December edition of RAC Magazine also looks at the ambitions of new Institute of Refrigeration president Kevin Glass as he formerly takes up the role from Stephen Gill.
