This month’s RAC Magazine looks at the initial aftermath of the first service and new equipment ban to be introduced under the F-Gas regulation
February’s edition of RAC Magazine takes a look at the early impacts from the introduction of the first F-Gas service ban on equipment designed for higher GWP products, including use of R404A at certain levels. The ban came into effect early last month.
Some engineers working in the cooling sector say responses have so far been well organised to the changes introduced. Others argue that the service ban alone was a missed opportunity to push larger sections of the industry towards alternative refrigerant products and cooling solutions.
The issue also looks at efforts in the US to introduce fresh legislation to curb the use of HFC products at a national level, taking a lead from several states that have introduced their own reduction targets.
