This month we consider efforts to introduce a new voluntary industry agreement to crack down on F-Gas non-compliance, as well as the implications of a revised charge size standard for flammables
The latest edition of RAC Magazine coincides with the inaugural World Refrigeration Day that takes place on June 26. The event is focused on the wide array of challenges facing industry to ensure an anticipated rise in cooling functions can be met sustainably and economically, posing significant technical and policy challenges for the cooling sector.
The issue looks at how this challenge is being faced on multiple fronts, such as in efforts to introduce a voluntary agreement - supported by refrigerant distributors - to ensure compliance with the EU’s flagship F-Gas regulation that seeks to limit greenhouse gas emissions.
Efforts by the Consumer Goods Forum to increase understanding of the applications of natural refrigerants via new guidance are covered in the magazine, along with the uncertain timeline to introduce a revised standard that will allow for larger charge sizes of flammable gas to be used in cooling.
