RD&T to continue FRPERC work

Three members of the FRPERC food research group, which was closed by its Bristol university landlords in July, have set up a new company RD&T (Refrigeration Developments and Testing) to continue its work.

Judith Evans, Tim Brown and Dr Alan Foster, together with consultant Edward Hammond will offer research into industrial projects, while continuing the refrigeration work carried out at FRPERC which included retail and commercial cabinet testing, the design of prototype refrigeration systems, and energy reduction and optimisation of refrigeration systems.

Judith Evans, the managing director of the new company, said: “We believe that RD&T offers a unique service that transfers research knowledge into industrial projects that are delivered under commercial constraints and timescales. We are keen to expand the services we already offered as part of FRPERC and to continue our collaborations with our customers.”

RD&T will trade initially from the former FRPERC site at Langford, near Bristol, but plans to move to new facilities in the future and to maintain links with academic centres.
