Refcom announces upgraded F-Gas support software

New tool, developed with Joblogic, is designed to automate and streamline audit processes for members to meet changing requirements of EU regulation

Refcom has launched updated software to help contractors track refrigerant usage in line with the changing requirements of F-Gas regulations.  The release follows the latest and stictest F-Gas quota reductions that came into effect in January.

The tool has been developed with software group Joblogic to help track refrigerant bottles, while also providing an automated logbook function and service records storage, as well as more detailed data analysis features, according to Refcom.

Customer records can also be automatically generated though the software to support contractors with operational audits and inspections.

One free user licence for the software, launched last week at the HVACR Show in London, will be provided to Refcom members in order to support the organisation in collaborating with the Environment Agency to ensure regulations on curbing use of higher GWP gases are being enforced.

Refcom head Graeme Fox said that the updates to the software, introduced by partnering with Joblogic, were intended to meet all F-Gas obligations facing contractors by simplifying complicated processes such as schedule and record keeping.

Mr Fox said, “Regulatory compliance is an administrative burden on any business and we are committed to making this a simple process for all of our registered contractors.”

Refcom has claimed that it now represents over 80 per cent of mandatory company certificates required by the UK refrigerant handling market as part of its work to help ensure F-Gas compliance and that refrigerant is being reclaimed for use.

The upgraded software has been launched after Refcom unveiled an online process for checking company registrations last year. The service, which is offered through Refcom’s website, was designed to let suppliers check the credentials of a customer either by their name or F-Gas certificate number.
