The Renewable Energy Skills Forum (RESF) has established a number of groups that will help address skills related issues in the renewable heat industry.
National advisory groups have been set up in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales to monitor progress and contribute from their own perspective.
An Industry Working Group has been established to identify skills needed in the sector.
A Training Working Group has also been set up to identify the courses, qualifications and materials that will deliver sector needs.
The role of the RESF includes establishing a UK register of approved qualifications that provide evidence of competence for MCS accreditation and influencing the quality assurance of training delivery and assessment.
The Department of Energy & Climate Change has appointed SummitSkills to establish the RESF in collaboration with renewable heat and training industry partners.
SummitSkills general manager Nigel Hollett said: “The new working groups represent an even greater opportunity for individuals and organisations to engage with the forum.
“We encourage anyone with an interest in renewable heat skills to get involved in these groups to help drive the skills agenda as we move forward.”
