Trane has announced the opening of its new ‘state-of-the-art’ testing facility, located in the production and design centre in Epinal, France.
The facility will function as a validation centre for new product development enabling the simulation of all operating conditions encountered during the life of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment, according to the company.
It also enables the verifying of equipment performance, including the large capacity chillers and multi-pipe units.
The controlled ambient conditions range from -25 deg C to 60 degrees C, with distribution of the air around the equipment under examination.
Trane claims the facility is able to recreate these conditions in a standalone environment, independent of the outside weather environment, a unique capability in the HVAC industry.
“Trane has been innovating at a pace beyond that of the rest of the industry with several new products introduced across the air-cooled and water-cooled chiller portfolios in the last 12 months,” said Louis Rompre, portfolio manager for Trane in Europe. “
