RAC has partnered with Chemours to look at how its lower flammability HFO blends are helping major retailers face up to the demands of F-Gas legislation
RAC Magazine will be hosting a special webinar event on Thursday 14 November focused on implementing lower flammability A2L HFO refrigerant blends in supermarkets.
The event, which is sponsored by Chemours, is the latest in a series of webinars held with RAC looking at both the challenges and emerging innovations driving key changes in the cooling sector.
Mark Hughes, business development manager of fluorochemicals with the company, will join RAC Magazine editor Andrew Gaved to look at the implications for supermarkets in adopting lower GWP products into their operations.
A key theme of the event will be looking at how the company’s Opteon XL blends have been installed by supermarket retailers to help meet the shifting requirements of the EU F-Gas legislation.
This will look at their impacts on overall expenditure and life-cycle cost, as well as how emissions compare to other lower GWP options on the market.
It is free to register for the event, which commences at 10:30am on November 14 and will run until midday. The simple registration process, which will also allow listeners to view the webinar after the initial live broadcast, can be completed online here.
A previous RAC Magazine webinar hosted earlier this year with Chemours considered the impacts of an upcoming service and new equipment ban that comes into force in January 2020. This will have a direct impact on installing and maintaining appliances that run on higher-GWP products such as R404A.
Mark Hughes used the previous webinar to note efforts made by the European Commission to ensure regulators had more teeth to tackle a black-market refrigerant trade that the cooling industry fears still risks undermining efforts to curb use of higher GWP refrigerant.
