Waitrose seeks planning for new 36,000 sq ft Glasgow store

Waitrose has submitted a planning application to East Renfrewshire Council for its first purpose built store in Scotland.

The application, submitted jointly with Gleniffer Estates, is for a 36,000 sq ft plot off Crookfur Road in Newton Mearns, Glasgow.

The store, which will have 25,000 sq ft sales area and 180 car parking spaces, will be the second phase of the Greenlaw Village Neighbourhood Centre, created jointly by Gleniffer Estates and Walker Group.

Greenlaw Village is a £30m retail and leisure scheme spanning a 6.14 acre site located to the east of junction 4 off the M77.

Developed over five phases, the first phase features a retail parade and confirmed tenants already include Tesco Express, BetFred, Newsbox and Greenlaw Dry Cleaners.
