Administrators PWC has announced 232 redundancies at WR Refrigeration after a lack of offers to support the firm.
The announcement comes after, a number of the company’s major contracts had been sold to the property maintenance provider Integral, preserving the employment of 255 jobs, however, today PwC announced a significant culling in staff numbers..
Eddie Williams of PwC, said: “Unfortunately, the level of interest and support for the remaining business means that we have no alternative than to begin the wind down of the company.
“We have retained 119 employees [see table] to assist us and we will continue to explore options to support the transfer of people to other service providers.
“I would like to thank all the employees for their cooperation since our appointment and we will look to support them at this difficult time.”
The Leicester-headquartered company has sites in locations such as Belfast, Cardiff, Dartford, East Kilbride, Leeds and Spalding.
