Company believes a successful formula of product innovation and dedicated support will have a huge impact on the UK market
Zetacool has been appointed sole full product range distributor for Midea.
The move comes as the Chinese manufacturer pushes to significantly develop its UK presence, and follows a trading partnership between the two companies which stretches back to 2003.
Both added they acted after consideration of the negative coverage of Chinese manufacturers who launched in the UK and suffered subsequent service, after-sales support and spares problems.
Chris Petri, managing director of Zetacool said the last six years have been invaluable in ironing out any difficulties: “We have tested and re-tested our systems to find them totally robust. We are confident that we can provide a quality service, along with innovative products,” he said.
Midea is putting its own people into the UK, with project manager Michael Sung heading up the operation. He will also act as a middleman between Zetacool and production in China to develop appropriate products.
Mr Sung said: “Other Chinese companies have tried to sell off-the-shelf products into the UK with no support and precious little in the way of parts and service. This is not our way.”
The latest release is the MGA Chiller range fitted with patented digital compressors to enable the system to operate at just five per cent of full load.
Midea says the reliability of the digital compressors and the performance of the MGA Chiller range mean that there is normally no requirement for a standby system in case of malfunction, reducing both costs and storage requirements.
Technical director at Zetacool, John Rosier called this a first: “To the best of our knowledge no other chiller offers the same degree of flow temperature control. Each 65kW model, for example, has four compressors arranged in four independent circuits.”
Zetacool are confident that Midea’s launch will have a huge impact on the UK market.
