ICS launches Green Cooling range of hydrocarbon chillers

Following intensive research into energy-efficient refrigerants, ICS has launched its first range of hydrocarbon chillers.

The Green Cooling range, developed with manufacturing partner Tricool Thermal, provides a choice of ozone-friendly hydrocarbon refrigerants: Propane R290 or Propylene R1270. These are naturally produced and non-toxic with a GWP of less than 3.0.

The Green Cooling range is currently being manufactured in a range of duties, from 50-650 kW, offering a wide temperature choice of -30 deg C to 20 deg C water leaving.

Both the Propane and Propylene chillers are available with a range of options, such as low profile, low noise and Atex specification. They can also be specified to a bespoke size and orientation, built to suit the available space on site.

The range will be manufactured to ISO 9001 standards by Tricool Thermal at its UK manufacturing facility in Southampton.

the core impact behind this initiative is due to the phase-out of HCFC’s refrigerants, alongside the necessity to reduce energy costs.
